Small Acreage Team

Lyman Heritage Barn

The B.E.A.R. (Better Environment And River) Project was initiated in 1983 with the purpose of working with state and local government to maintain a parkway with recreation, water conservation, flood control, reclamation rehabilitation, and wildlife resource goals.  Kerri serves on the Education Committee.  To learn more about the Bear River Parkway, please click here:

The heritage farm (just East of Lyman) was once an experimental station for the University of Wyoming where studies were done on soils and vegetation.  The experimental farm closed in 1944 and a portion of it was purchased by the Town of Lyman.  UCCD helps to provide oversight in the natural resource development of the area.  Development plans by the Heritage Farm Committee include a wildlife friendly fishing pond, an educational wetland area and a nature trail with interpretation signs.  Click the link above to give your input!

In an effort to educate small acreage landowners, UCCD supports the Wyoming Small Acreage Team.  The Team promotes sustainable practices that will enhance the land.  They have created a quarterly publication called "Barnyards & Backyards" to help educate landowners about sound resource management.  To find out more, click on the link below.
